27 Weeks
Less than 3 months until this little baby is here! We are all getting very excited! It will be fun to have a baby in the house again. Things have been going well over the last month. The holidays were very busy, but we all had a great time. I ended up getting the stomach flu for a few days after Christmas. It wasn't the worst flu I've ever had, but it was definitely not enjoyable. As if having the flu isn't bad enough, having a growing baby kicking at all of your organs (including your stomach) makes it much worse. I hope that is the only illness I have with this pregnancy. I lucked out with Penelope and never really got sick.
My OB appointment last week went well. Baby's heartbeat was in the 150s. I passed the glucose tolerance test, so that was a relief. The doctor did put me on an iron supplement, though, because I was slightly anemic. She said that is fairly common in pregnancy. This last weekend we also got to see baby again; this time with a 3D ultrasound. The sonographer had a difficult time getting good shots of baby's face because little one just wanted to cuddle her face into the uterus wall. Baby girl was also a huge fan of sucking on anything she could. She was sucking on her fingers, then the umbilical cord, and even the uterus wall. We thought she had a lot of different features from Penelope. Her nose seemed more like my nose and her lips were much bigger than Pip's. She will definitely be a cutie, though, just like her sister.
Currently, the baby is about 2.5 pounds and the size of a head of cauliflower. I am definitely feeling quite pregnant at this point. I feel pretty good overall, but my body is getting more aches and I've had a few terrible leg cramps at night. We are now heading into the final trimester so I know that the discomforts will definitely be growing, but the good news is that it's the final stretch!
Here are a couple pictures from the 3D ultrasound.
We have several photos with her putting her hands up to her mouth. So cute!
