37 Weeks

I'm so happy to have made it to 37 weeks!  My personal goal was always 37 weeks since that's when all of the baby's organs should be functioning well, including the lungs.  The lungs are one of the last things to fully develop.

My OB has told me the whole time that she wanted me to make it to 38 weeks and then we would induce.  With my high blood pressure and now the additional lower amniotic fluid issue, she doesn't want to risk the health of myself or the baby keeping her in there longer.  So, at my appointment last week she said that she would induce me next Saturday.  I don't have to go in the night before this time, I'm guessing because I was already dilated 2 cm at 36 weeks and my last labor went so quickly.  It will be nice to spend one less night in the hospital.

Kevin and I are very excited to meet baby girl number two!  I think we have everything ready for her now and so we can just relax this week.  Well, Kevin will still be crazy busy at work, but at least he will be able to relax when he gets home!

I am feeling more and more uncomfortable each day so I'm definitely ready to deliver this little girl.  I have lots of contractions every day and plenty of heartburn.  I'm hoping the week goes quickly.  It's so hard to just wait patiently for such an exciting day!  Tomorrow I have my usual sonogram and then on Thursday I'll have my regular OB appointment.  Those will hopefully go well and we will make it to next weekend with no more bumps in the road.

The baby still seems very active and strong.  She can deliver some pretty good jabs to my insides!  There are definitely some that have taken my breath away.  While this pregnancy has been very uncomfortable and has had plenty of challenges, I know it will all be worth it when our little girl arrives.  It's hard to believe this time next week, we will be holding our second daughter!

  1. Fantastic blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers? I’m planning to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m completely overwhelmed .. Any suggestions? Many thanks!
